Stages

Marth counterpicks : FD and PS
- Zelda is a character who relies on platform movement to move around and be threatening.
- She is also very susceptible to getting juggled.
- Taking her to FD and PS is therefore the best choice.
Neutral stages stages : BF and FoD
- BF will generally be the starter stage.
- On BF and DL, Marth can camp Zelda really hard and force her to approach.
- Plats are high, it's hard for her to get on a plat
Roy counterpicks : YS and DL
- Easier for Zelda to get back to the ground.
- Low platforms are easier for Zelda to get to.
- Small stages with short side blastzones are very good for her kill options.
Gameplan
Marth should hold the stage against Zelda and make her come to him. With her weak approach options, she will be forced to hard commit. Marth will then either punish her and reset to neutral, or start a juggle. The kill will come from an uptilt, a fsmash or repeatedly sending her offstage.
To keep Zelda out, he will use his ground game to be menacing and weave in and out of her threat range. The goal is to force Zelda to the corner, and punish her repeatedly when she tries to escape. Staying grounded is a great strategy. It limits the hitbox Zelda can hit with her moves.
Since she wants to use platforms to get her movement going, Marth should stop her from doing so. But once Zelda is on a platform above him, he should respect her shield drop aerial.
Be careful when pressing her on her shield. Her fair and bair oos WILL KILL.
